We value and appreciate the support and commitment of our incredible volunteers.  We rely on volunteers to donate thousands of heartfelt hours to take care of this hospice home, its residents and their families. We have a carefully chosen team of volunteers who undergo training specific to their roles. Interested in Volunteering? Bereavement Team Volunteer

Trained Bereavement Team Volunteers make follow-up phone calls to the family members or significant others of those who died in the hospice following their loved one’s death at 1-month, 3-months, 6-months and 12-month intervals. Palliative Care Fundamental training and Vulnerable Sector Search are required.

Resident & Family Care Volunteer

The trained RFC volunteer provides compassionate and essential care to residents and their family members/caregivers during the resident’s end-of-life phase. The volunteer assists the entire healthcare team to provide resident centered care that would improve the quality of living and dying for the resident and his/her family. Palliative Care Fundamental training and Vulnerable Sector Search are required.

Reception Volunteer

Our Reception volunteers are a friendly welcoming presence who greets visitors, ensures a restricted measure self-screening tool is recorded for all guests, answers the telephone, provides directions within the hospice, assists with signing in/out, and administrative tasks.

Gardening Volunteer

Our Gardening volunteers assist with digging, planting, trimming, watering and transplanting – all with a green thumb and a warm heart.

Fundraising & Events Volunteer

Fundraising is an important component of our hospice as we rely on monies raised to cover operational expenses. It takes many hands to pull off a successful fundraising event and thank our generous donors.

Kitchen Volunteer

Kitchen volunteers provide assistance to our cooks in all aspects of making and delivering meals. These volunteers assure the residents are nourished in more ways than one. Specialized training, Safe Food Handling course, and Vulnerable Sector Search are required.

4 Hour Shifts

Maintenance Volunteer

Our Environmental Services Coordinator needs a number of Maintenance volunteers to assist with tasks of maintaining this home inside and out. A “Jack or Jill” of all trades are required for this physically demanding, yet immensely rewarding role.

Laundry Volunteer

As a specialized volunteer you will load, unload, fold and store freshly laundered linens for the household residents under the supervision of our nursing staff.

4 Hour Shifts
